Remote sensing and spatial information systems are among these areas, and especially the complexities of image processing and advanced GIS algorithms and artificial intelligence are not hidden from experts. Despite all this, we have taken a step in this direction and extracted many applications from the heart of these technologies. Basir Remote Sensing Institute is the first and only Iranian private company member of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), which has been operating since 1999 with the aim of developing modern sciences in areas such as remote sensing, spatial information systems, environment and geophysics (earthquake). The Hubble Space Telescope, HST, is one of the most important space inventions. The telescope was launched in 1990 by the Discovery Shuttle. The telescope was named after cosmologist Edwin Hubble. Although Hubble was not the first space telescope, it is one of the largest and most widely used. HST is a joint program between NASA and the European Space Agency.

Hubble Space Telescope

The first space telescope design was developed in 1923. Hubble was invested in the 1970s and was scheduled to be put into orbit in 1983, but the project was delayed by several years due to technical delays and budget problems. When the mission began in 1990, scientists realized that the main mirror was out of place and greatly reduced its efficiency. However, in 1993, it reached the quality desired by scientists and began its operations. Hubble is the first telescope that can be repaired in space and has been repaired about 5 times so far.

Advanced Mapping Camera

The last Hubble repair mission took place in 2002. In this mission, by replacing parts of the space telescope, its efficiency was greatly increased. In this mission, the solar panels of the damaged space telescope were replaced. The power supply that powered the telescope was completely switched off, shutting down the space telescope for the first time in space and connecting it to the ground control and command center. The mission also repaired and commissioned the NICMOS infrared camera, which was left unused due to a cooling system problem. In addition to all these improvements, NASA engineers installed their new ultra-powerful camera, the Advanced Mapping Camera, on the Space Telescope.

The end of Hubble

There is a lot of talk about when Hubble will end and how it will end. But what is clear is that this will not happen until the next space telescope is ready to go into space. On Saturday, May 16, 2009, the Hubble Space Telescope was overhauled. This is the first repair of a space object, including the replacement of some of its batteries as well as its main camera. It is expected that this telescope will be able to work for another 8 years after this repair.

Taking color photos with the Hubble Space Telescope is much more complicated than taking them with a regular camera. The first difference is that Hubble never uses color film, but uses its electronic detectors to collect and record light from space. These detectors do not produce cosmic images in color, and the images are primarily black and white. The final images are a combination of several black-and-white images that have been color-coded during processing. The colors in Hubble images, which are created for a variety of reasons, are not always what we used to see up close.
